Assignment 5: Paint To Music
We were told by Ms. Lisa on Facebook that we will be having our fifth assignment right after we present our monogram designs because she is leaving soon. On 5th January 2015, after the monogram presentation, we packed up our stuffs and put them on the sides. Then, we proceeded to our last assignment for this class which is Paint To Music.

For this assignment, we had two sessions; first playlist was the suggested songs by the class that Mishu put together and second playlist was classical musics given by Ms. Lisa. I decided to use poster colour as my medium on A1 watercolour paper. During the first session, I was a bit blank because it was my first time doing this particular activity. When the first song played for few seconds, I decided to make brush strokes on the blank paper with blue and red. Then, I started dabbing my flat brush all over the paper with different colours. I really did not think of anything at that moment because we were asked to feel the music - and I felt it, surprisingly. Unfortunately, my song did not played during the one hour session :( The outcome looks a little bit messy (very very messy, actually :p) because I kept on layering colours on colours. When I was painting, I felt sad, tired and mad at the same time because it was our last class together with Ms. Lisa and we were in school since 8 in the morning. Despite the messiness, I kinda like the result because it reminds me of my childhood memory especially the handprints that I did.

When the music stopped, all of us cleaned up some of the mess we made, washed our brushes and get ready for the second session. When the first music started playing, I decided to use pastel colours due to the soft musics. I started off by making curvy white lines with a flat brush. Then, I just made huge circles with different pastel colours all over the watercolour paper so that they will look like bubbles. When I finished all the circles, I dabbed white colour using a smaller brush on the upper side to make clouds and I added white strokes to make a rainy effect. I was not sure about how I really felt at that time but I know I was happy and sad. I felt happy because it was fun painting with my friends around and I felt so sad about the fact that we only have a month to see each other - I am so gonna miss you guys!

All in all, it was a great painting experience I had in class. Thank you, Ms. Lisa for this opportunity and knowledge that you gave me during my foundation year. It was an awesome journey to get learn new things and skills that I never knew that I could do. Sorry for all the inconveniences and wrongdoings that I have made. Once again, thank you for everything (I appreciate it a lot!) and we are gonna miss you loads :)
