Assignment 3: Colour Wheel

Research

I have studied about colour wheel during high school. So, I have known basic things about colour wheel such as primer colour, secondary colour and tertiary colour. We were asked by Ms. Lisa to do research about this particular assignment before we start learning about it. Basically, colour wheel is an abstract illustrative organisation of colour hues in a circle form.

Lecture

Today in class, we learnt more deeper about colour wheel. We were introduced to colour harmonies which is a basic technique for creating colour schemes. Colour plays important roles in everything. I cannot imagine if the famous rock band's logo such as Linkin Park has pink and purple on it - that would look horrible for sure.

1. Complementary colour (opposite each other on the colour wheel)

2. Analogous colour (next to each other on the colour wheel)

Group Discussion

This time, we have to do this assignment in a group work of 4-6 people. My teammates are myself, Cigie, Andrea, Nadia and Aizat. We were asked to do a group discussion in class for an hour. So, after an hour of brainstorming and sketching our designs, we showed them to her. She picked the colour wheel pathway with a dragon pasted on one of the curtains because she likes the idea of it.
