Introduction to Photography
Project - Theme Based: Presentation of 5 Images in Printed Form
Lecture
This morning in class, Mr. Vinod briefed us about the main project of this specific course that we need to do in 6 weeks. Then, he told us that every pictures that we will take must relate with everything that we have learnt before. He also showed us the marking rubric so that all of us are aware of it and have the correct perception on this project. After that, he asked us to think about the the themes (two themes at least) that we are going to snap for this particular photography project.
- Choose subject of interest
- Capture a series of 5 pictures
- Print out the pictures in hardcopy form
Inspirations
experience: It took me awhile to think about the theme for this project because most of us have the same ideas. I wanna be different, so, I tried my best to think out of the box. But I cannot force myself to think of anything that can make other people amazed with my work. I have some ideas that running through my mind such as nature, mask, mosque, person and old buildings. I do not know whether I can impress people with my photographs. But hey, I will try my best because one cannot give up easily without doing anything yet right? I also discovered some venues for me to go like Malacca, Pangsun, Penang, Putrajaya and my house.
observation: From what I observe, people will have the same ideas as us. I do not really know how other people can have the same idea with me because I thought I am the least creative person in the class. But, I know they all will take good shots like they always do. I also observed that, if you want to take a great photos, you have to discover and travel a lot.
findings: I think that my ideas for the theme for this particular project are not that good. The ideas that I have produced cannot impress any professional photographers. I even think that I will face difficulties later on because I have a transportation problem since I picked places that is quite far from my place - except for my house. Furthermore, I think I have to discover more beautiful yet breathtaking places in Malaysia.
